Thursday 27 December 2018

The Public services Department in Ras Al Khaimah has made a great deal of the comprehensive project for the development and rehabilitation of the vital area of Maereedh in Ras Al Khaimah, which is expected to revive the region, reorganize and upgrade its services and infrastructure, in the light of its importance and the role of the main road in The region, which is a vital artery in the emirate. Four government departments contributed to the preparation and planning of the project, translating it into reality, facilitating the course of action and removing obstacles encountered by the municipality of Ras al-Khaimah, the Ras al-Khaimah Police and the Department of Economic Development, along with the service. "The project started last November and lasts about 12 months, it is expected to be completed in the last quarter of next year (2019), and is divided into two phases, the first beginning with the" Federal Street ", passing by the signal, said M. Ahmed. Photocell, down to the "target rotor ", which will switch to a light signal instead of the current "Rotor ", then the rotor "al-Algazi ", which will undergo rehabilitation, with the "roundabout", and end with "Fish Market roundabout". In its first phase, the project was to restore and rehabilitate the main road in the area, Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Street, and to expand it by converting each direction to 3 lanes, instead of two lanes, abolishing the central island, replacing it with concrete barriers, and establishing secure and high street level sites To cross pedestrians, in the form of high "bumps ", as well as to reorganize and increase the number of parking spaces and set up sidewalks on both sides of the road. The first phase started November 2018, and the end of the first quarter of 2019, he said, adding that the project will create an economic boom, a special service and support for shops and people, while the parking of vehicles, sidewalks and road classes has been completed. One aspect of the project's importance is that it makes the main route presentation similar to that of the federal road. He explained that the second phase begins in the second quarter of 2019, and the work extends from the signal "target ", which will replace the rotor, down to the circle of Rams, north, about 7 kilometers long, explaining that the work at this stage will be easier and will not affect the traffic flow, because of the large size of the average island Over there. This phase includes transforming the current route on the end street to the shops and "Street services ", transforming the median island into a new two-way road, which will be wider than the old road, and each direction consists of 3 lanes.
