An expanded campaign to eliminate the phenomenon of "stray animals" on the roads -

Monday 1 June 2020

The Public Services Department in Ras Al Khaimah has completely reactivated the procedures and controls of "loose animals", specifically in the external roads and streets of remote areas surrounding Ras Al Khaimah, following the completion of a large part of the sterilization of roads and public facilities in the emirate. The Department confirmed the launch of an expanded campaign to eliminate the phenomenon of "stray animals" on roads and public squares, and to sign violations stipulated in the law on violators, including the owners of these free animals. Eng. Ahmed Al Hammadi, General Manager of Ras Al Khaimah Services, said: "The department's teams have seized 57 animals on public roads in the past four days (Thursday to Sunday). Of these, 6 are camels, 8 cows and 43 goats, which pose an imminent threat to public safety, endanger road security, and cause fatal accidents and loss of life and private and public property. Al Hammadi appealed to the local and public to cooperate and communicate with the Department, by reporting any cases of loose animals on public roads, external and internal, and any irregularities, disadvantages or deficiencies in public services, on the toll-free number (8008118).
