Throwing medical masks and gloves in the streets is an environment for the spread of viruses.

Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director General of the Public Services Department in Ras Al Khaimah, explained that throwing medical masks and gloves in the streets and roads, causes the transmission of diseases to others, especially cleaners, stressing that adherence to precautionary and preventive measures is a shared responsibility, the most important of which are members of the community. He stated that section (8) of the list of violations in force in Ras al-Khaimah, provides for the violation of "throwing papers, trash, spitting or throwing cigarette butts or any waste in public roads and squares". Al Hammadi stressed the application of all health safety precautions to the workers collecting and sorting waste during the current period, where the worker wears gloves and medical muzzles before the start of work, in addition to the use of sterilizers and disinfectants, to protect him from the risk of infection, pointing out that the department uses special equipment to lift garbage containers from different areas of the emirate. He pointed out that medical containers were provided in clinics and medical centers, which are collected and disposed of periodically, in accordance with the best international standards, pointing out that the department follows the best specifications of sorting waste in the automated sorting plant in Ras Al Khaimah, where trained and specialized workers were provided to work inside the factory, within a safe and integrated sanitary environment, and subject to all safety requirements, by wearing factory clothing, where only workers in the factory are not allowed to enter or deal inside it.
