Public Services Department In Ras Al Khaimah launched
"Our Residential Areas, Our Responsibility" campaign, which includes replacing old containers with new, modern ones in residential areas of the emirate. Each two homes will share one container, fixed on bases. This is the first phase of the campaign, starting in the Al Dhait area, with plans to expand to other residential areas in the city in the coming period. The campaign aims to raise awareness about proper disposal methods using designated containers throughout all neighborhoods in Ras Al Khaimah.
Currently, all old waste containers in residential areas in Sector 13 are being replaced, with 5000 containers set to be replaced in the first phase, which is expected to be completed within five months. The Public Services Department has also provided a new fleet of vehicles dedicated to collecting waste from containers in an automated manner and offering container washing services. This aims to maintain public health, prevent bad odors, and preserve the site's general appearance. The new vehicles are highly efficient, ensuring the best results, and contribute to saving time, effort, resources, and labor.
Public Services Department revealed that the new containers are of high quality and advanced specifications, accompanied by the application of the latest integrated systems to monitor all related data using GIS systems to identify the most precise geographical and technical details of the containers and create comprehensive databases.
To ensure the success of the replacement process, the department dedicated 1000 employees, including workers, supervisors, and administrators. Informative brochures were prepared for residential neighborhoods and the department's official platforms, in collaboration with Ras Al Khaimah Radio, by sending awareness flashes via the radio. Through this new initiative, the department aims to promote the concept of "sustainability" in the emirate by encouraging people to adopt more sustainable habits and daily behaviors that reduce human negative impact on the environment and preserve it.
